Create a new event with Videosync

There’s two ways to start creating a new event - by duplicating an existing event or creating new event using Videosync’s template library.

i. Duplicate existing event as base for a new event

Begin by, in the All Events or Category -view, click on the duplicate event symbol (marked with red in the image below) in the event that you’d like to duplicate.

This will open a modal:

In this modal, fill in necessary details:

• Your new event’s name in the New Title field
• Date and time of the event
• Url Name means the last part of the event, for example accountname.videosync.events/UrlName
• Text for pre-live presentation is a placeholder text that is shown in place of the videoplayer, before your event is live, for example “Please stand by, we’ll be starting live soon..”
• Text for hidden on-demand presentation means a placeholder text that is shown in place of the videoplayer, right after your event has ended, for example “Thanks for joining! Remember our next event 30th November, sign in here..“

ii. Create new event from scratch or use Videosync built-in templates

Begin by clicking the + symbol in the event listing view. Following modal opens up:

In this modal, fill in all fields to start creating your event.

• Your new event’s name in the Title field
• Date and time of the event
• Url Name means the last part of the event, for example accountname.videosync.events/UrlName
• Choose a category for your event. Note that event can’t be created without choosing a category for it.
• Select appropriate template by clicking it
• Click Create event Then, following appears

You can skip this part by clicking Done, or alternatively:

• Upload the logo that you’d like to use in the custom event site
• Upload an hero image, preferably in a wide rectangle shape (such as 1920 x 1000 pixels). This image will be used as a placeholder image for the video player when the event is in pending live or pending recording state. Having completed these steps, wait for a few seconds and you will end up in the event settings view and you can start customizing event visuals, features and content.
