Using your own domain for your Videosync events

💡 For fully branded virtual and hybrid events, Videosync offers an opportunity to customize the event site URL. This white labeling option is available for single events as add-on feature, and is included in the Business and Enterprise accounts as default.

Videosync event URL domain

In the Videosync default -mode, the event URL consists of accountname.videosync.fi followed by the event slug. For example

https://youraccountname.videosync.fi/event-slug

With the customization, the domain consists of your sub-domain followed by the event-slug, for example

https://event.example.com/event-slug

The original Videosync URL will work even after the DNS change but now it can be accessed using also your own domain.

How to do it

There are couple of things needed to get your own domain to work with Videosync. You will need to modify the domain’s nameservice settings and point it to videosync.fi. After that we will do adjustments to our services (load balancing, add SSL certificate, whitelist the domain etc.).

First thing to decide is what subdomain you want to use for Videosync events. Normally the main domain is not part of Videosync so it can be used for your company website.

💡 It is also possible to forward the main domain, for example mycoolhybridevent.com, to use your Videosync events but for technical reasons, the domain’s nameservers need to be handled by us. In this case, contact us and we can discuss what is needed in this case.

DNS settings for the subdomain

When you’ve decided what subdomain to use, it will need some DNS records and point to videosync.fi.

For example if you chosen subdomain to be events, you will need to add CNAME record like this:

events.example.com. CNAME _custom-domain.videosync.fi.

After that is done, inform us at support@videosync.fi about the change and we will do the rest. Please note that custom URLs are a paid add-on feature, please check current pricing from your account representative.
